This work exudes sheer joy! ”SIMCHAS TORAH” is a Genuine
Signed and Dated Ari Roussimoff Oil on Canvas Painting,
measuring a huge sized 30 x 40 inches. This incomparible jewel
was painted in the year 2004, although the artist originally
concieved of it in 1970. This is a spectacular example of
religious themed artwork at its very, very best and most
inspirational. "SIMCHAS TORAH” evokes the wonderful holiday as
it was celebrated in a Hassidic Synagogue in a Russian,
Ukrainian or Polish Shtetl (small Jewish town in Eastern
Europe). In the background, amidst the highly ornate interior,
we see two large windows that serve as a magical gateway to
the Shtetl of old. Yet, the holy and eternal land of Israel,
never far from the hearts and souls of all pious Jews wherever
they may be, is represented by the image of the Wailing Wall
of Jerusalem, which is seen as a mural on the upper left wall
of the Synagogue. This is an important Roussimoff artwork.
It's beauty is not done justice to by the pictuures in this
ad. The work completely bathed in an indescribably poetic
range of rainbow-like colours which compliment the dynamic,
moving compositional planes based on both the Cubist and
Expressionist styles. This is a picture embodied with immense
spiritual passion and warmth of spirit. It evokes the great
and beloved stories of Yiddish authors like Sholem Aleichem
(his "Tevye Stories" having inspired the play, "Fiddler On The
Roof"), Y. L. Peretz, the Singer brothers and many others.
This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a major Judaic
themed Artwork by a World-Class Artist. This Hypnotic
Portrayal of the Eastern European Jewish Experience by Ari
Roussimoff will stand out in any fine collection.
